BRIEF
Jessica’s journey to founding Intermission - A Beauty Break began with an unexpected pivot. Originally set to open her own salon, Jessica's goal was to give her customers an intermission, or beauty break, from their busy lives. In 2020, her plans were upended by the pandemic, and her life took a new direction after battling severe COVID-19 complications. Facing extreme sensitivity to chemicals and an ongoing medical journey, she not only had to give up on her life's passion of hair, but she struggled to find personal care products that met her need for pure, natural ingredients. Determined to create a solution, Jessica began formulating her own chemical-free products and ultimately launched Intermission, dedicated to helping others who share her challenges.
SOLUTION
For her brand’s logo redesign, I kept the overall look and feel of her brand delicate to mimic her gentle products. By using contrasting font weights, I emphasized the word “mission” within the logo to spotlight her goal of helping others. Clean, thin lines represent the purity of her products, while a hand-drawn lavender sprig brings a personal, handmade touch—reflecting the care and natural elements she pours into each creation. This delicate look and feel embody Jessica’s journey and commitment to creating safe, gentle products for others navigating similar challenges.
