BRIEF
Jessica came to me in need of a rebrand that felt soft, intentional, and elevated. Something that would reflect the purity of her handmade, chemical-free products while appealing to customers seeking high-quality, luxurious self-care. She had originally planned to open her own salon, but her path shifted dramatically in 2020 after severe COVID-19 complications left her with long-term health issues and extreme chemical sensitivities. Forced to step away from her career in hair, Jessica began creating her own natural products out of necessity, eventually launching Intermission – A Beauty Break to help others on similar journeys.
SOLUTION
The new visual identity is delicate and feminine to reflect the gentle nature of her products, with contrasting line weights and type choices that give the brand a refined, high-end feel. The brandmark carries layered meaning: a butterfly to symbolize transformation (for Jessica, her business, and her customers), a heart to represent the love behind each handmade product, and a subtle “J” as a nod to the maker herself. A grounded, earthy palette brings in her two signature scents (lavender and mint) through rich purple and earth green hues, creating a warm, calming foundation for the brand.
